Amir Makes Way into Pakistan Test Squad

Muhammad Aamir

Muhammad Amir, the Pakistani left arm fast bowling sensation has made his way back into Pakistan’s test squad touring England next month for the 4 match test series starting from 14th July 2016.

Muhammad Amir will show his presence into international test cricket after 5 long and hard punishing years after his ban has been lifted in September last year. However, he has been playing Pakistan’s limited over cricket for quite a while now.

There were some concerns about Amir being granted England’s visa, but now that the PCB is very hopeful that he will be granted the visa by the next week, they have selected him into Pakistan’s test squad and he will travel along with the team departing for England on 18th June. The England cricket board’s support and the sympathies from all around the world have helped Amir a lot in this regard.

Amir has served his 5 year ban during which he also suffered a 6 month jail sentence due to his part in the 2010’s spot fixing controversial test match that was played at the Lords where he bowled some No balls deliberately which he accepted himself later on.

Rahat Ali, Wahab Riaz, Imran Khan and Sohail Khan (who last played for Pakistan in 2015’s world cup where he was the 2nd highest wicket taker for Pakistan with, 12 wickets) are the other fast bowlers who have been selected in the squad.

The last time Pakistan toured England was way back in 2010, when Pakistan suffered a lot with the 3-1 defeat in the test series, 2-0 in the t20s and 3-2 defeat in the ODIs, but with the very young side this time, Chief selector and the former Pakistan captain Inzimam ul Haq and the other board members with the team are confident about the team’s good performance this time.
