Joe Root’s Solid Innings Put England on Top Spot

Joe Root, along with skipper Cook, had been England top batsman from quite a time now and has done exceptionally well for them in every away or home test match series.

It is not wrong to say that the whole England team starts depending on Root as the young sensation has never disappointed almost every time the responsibility was put onto his shoulders.

This time against Pakistan in the second test at Old Trafford, Manchester is absolutely no different from his previous great knocks and that has also put his team in a driving seat one can say. Root made an exceptional, unbeaten 141 at the stumps day 1 putting England at 314-4.

On the other hand all Pakistani bowlers apart from Amir, who took the first two wickets of Hales and Cook, getting both of them bowled and Rahat Ali, who gets the last two wickets of Vince and Balance had a hard day today with Yasir Shah the Lords hero not even getting a single wicket with giving 100 plus runs.

Amir bowled 20 overs in the day on Friday and took 2-63 while Rahat Ali got 2-69 in 20 overs also which give the Pakistani side a bit of a hope at the end of the day when Vince and Balance failing yet again.
