An earthquake shook Tokyo with a magnitude of 5.4, but any casualty or damage has not been reported yet. An earlier Tokyo earthquake with same magnitude was also felt in Tokyo on July 17 and July 19.
Japan is located between the four tectonic plates and it experiences a lot of violent earthquakes every year. According to United States Geological Survey, the navel point of Tokyo Earthquake was east of the capital in the Ibaraki administrative division at a depth of 46.7 kilometers.
The Japanese Meteorological Agency said that there was no threat of a tsunami. An undersea earthquake hit Japan on March 2011 leaving more than 18,000 people dead or missing, and sending three reactors into meltdown at the nuclear plant in Fukushima.
