Pathogenic Microorganisms that are known to be mostly transmitted through the contaminated water are blamed to be the cause of water borne diseases throughout the world. The infection caused by these diseases is mostly occurring during, drinking, bathing, washing, preparing food and consuming the food that is infected. Diarrheal diseases affect children throughout the developing countries are said to be a perfect example of these water related diseases. These water related diseases make 4.1% of the diseases that affects humans. Moreover, these diseases are also said to be affecting and leading to the deaths of over 1.8 million humans all over the world.

Using the water that is already contaminated with animal or human feces is one of the causes of the water borne diseases.

Diseases that are born as a result of the contaminated water is said to be fourth-fifth of all the diseases while Diarrhea being the top cause of the death amongst the children in developing countries. While throughout the world, Diarrhea is known to be the 3rd leading water borne disease. According to a report, there are approximately 2.4 billion people in the world who still don’t have proper sanitation system installed in their living area out of which there are still 1.1 people worldwide who do not get to drink clean and improved water. These diseases are as dangerous as it is known that about every 90 seconds, a child dies due to water related diseases and infections worldwide.

Symptoms of the Water Related Diseases

There are many symptoms that indicate the water borne disease while Vomiting and Diarrhea are the top ones and most commonly occurring, some other symptoms include eyes, ear, skin and respiratory infections as well. If there are any of these symptoms you notice, must go to your doctor and have a proper checkup.

Prevention from the Water Related Diseases

Prevention is the best way to treat a disease obviously. There are some methods that can be used to prevent these water mention diseases:

  • By using a good environmental management system: includes flushing and discarding of the stools in the toilet and by using chlorine-based disinfectant.
  • Carefully washing hands after regular intervals of all ages, but children should be supervised to do so for about 20 seconds.

To take proper food by getting the safety precautions, eating the food that is not contaminated and is clean can help save you and your loved ones from many diseases.
